A converted old bar is the new premise of The Pub. Earlier, the bar catered to the Members of the prestigious FNCC club, Hyderabad. The Pub is set on a hillock on a 3.5 acre land area. The underlying premise of The Pub was a place where people interacted and socialized. Our design reflected these ideas to give that unobstructed look with no internal walls that can prove contradictory to free-flowing communications and interactions. A smoking lounge, a curvilinear deck area was woven into the main theme to give expansiveness.

There were budget limitations as it was a community center and to accommodate this, recycling was inevitable. In spite of these limitations, we undertook the challenge to create a functional contemporary design which epitomizes the blending in of newest trends with vibrant colors, optimal space usage and elegantly done open spaces.

Service apartment at Tolichowki, Hyderabad

Built In: 2006
Area: 3, 04,000 sq. ft.

The Service Apartments have been envisaged as a landmark on the Old Mumbai Highway. We designed the building catering to multiple uses with two floors earmarked as commercial retail spaces and two floors for office spaces. A ten-floor area was earmarked as Service apartments completed with facilities like banquet halls, restaurants, and a gym and spa area and a rooftop swimming pool. We planned a total of 200 residential units comprising of studio apartments, single room, double room and three bedroom units. Each unit is fully-furnished and well-equipped with a modular kitchen and other facilities so as to give the residents a complete home-away-from-home feeling.

Three levels of parking space were allocated to accommodate the required parking slots. The entry to each of these facilities was segregated so there was no crowding or intermingling of people so as not to disturb anyone and to give complete privacy and security to the residents.

Area: 2000 sq. ft.

Persis- Indian Grill is a chain of restaurants that specializes in authentic Hyderabadi Biryani. Here we initiated design interplay of both traditional and modern themes. The restaurant comprises of an Express Counter, a fine dining area and banquet halls. The Express is the most popular concept, extending to 2000 sq. ft. and is commonly referred to as the Biryani Corner. Our prototype design for the Biryani Corner is a present-day space with rustic touches.

To render an Indian touch and flavour, a Lotus motif has been integrated into the design. The motif treatment varies from sleek to rustic, but very contemporary. We included a thematic, infographic representation of the history of Biryani with highlights of the Hyderabadi influence on this delicacy, thus educating the Americans about this Royal cuisine.

Persis- Indian Grill is a chain of restaurants that specializes in authentic Hyderabadi Biryani. Here we made conscious design interplay of both traditional and contemporary themes. The restaurant comprises of an Express Counter, a fine dining area and banquet halls. The fine dine restaurant area is about 4000 sq. ft. serving authentic Indian cuisine with the Hyderabadi Biryani being their speciality. We conceptualized the prototype plan for the fine dine restaurant and the interiors design is similar to the Biryani Corner prototype which is modern-day with a rural flavour. The Lotus motif has been included in the overall design, to emphasize the Indian element. The motif treatment varies from sleek to rustic, but very up to date.

One of our key design highlights was the thematic representation of the history of Biryani focusing on the Hyderabadi angle, thus informing gourmet lovers about this special Indian cuisine.
